Rooney Returns From Suspension

Wayne Rooney returns from suspension as Manchester United bid to extend their Premier League lead to nine points at Wayne RooneyNewcastle tonight.

Rooney is back after missing the FA Cup semi-final because of the ban he received for his behaviour after scoring the third goal in his hat-trick against West Ham.

The striker is expected to play behind Javier Hernandez with Dimitar Berbatov in danger of being dropped after missing two great chances at Wembley.

Ryan Giggs and Rafael could return while Darren Fletcher is getting closer to being fully fit, but Paul Scholes starts a three-match ban.

Skipper Nemanja Vidic, who should again partner Rio Ferdinand at the back, is expecting a tough time on Tyneside.

He said: “We have played many games in the last few weeks and the next one is against Newcastle away, which is always a hard game to play.

“We must forget the City game now and concentrate on winning the title. It will not be easy but we have to perform, play good football and try to win the league.”
