Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho expresses shock at not being the managerial favourite to win Ballon d’Or

Inter MilanIt is thought that Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque is leading the race for the prize following his team’s World Cup success.

Jose Mourinho finds it hard to accept that he might not walk away with the Ballon d’Or award for his resounding success with Serie A outfit Inter Milan .

Vicente Del Bosque has emerged as the likely man to capture the prize for his achievements with the Spanish national team.

But, speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, highly-rated Mourinho claimed he is deserving of the accolade.

“In 11 months of work I won three titles, including the Champions League. There was nothing else to win.”, said the Real Madrid manager.

In irritated fashion, Mourinho then went on to express indifference.

“What can I say? I prefer to win Sunday’s game than the Ballon d’Or.”, the Portugese commented.
