Netherlands Women will continue their defence of the title that they won five years ago when they face France Women in the quarter-finals of the Women’s Euro 2022 on Saturday.
France, meanwhile, are looking to reach the semi-finals of the European Championships for the first time in their history.
France will try to avoid a fourth consecutive quarter-final exit at the European Championships when they face the Netherlands at the New York Stadium.
Corinne Diacre’s side booked their place in the knockout rounds after picking up seven points from their three group games.
The tournament began with a comprehensive 5-1 victory over Italy before they beat Belgium 2-1 to secure top spot after just two matches.
They looked set to claim a 17th consecutive international victory in their final group game after Melvine Malard found the net in the first minute, but a Dagny Brynjarsdottir spot kick in the 12th minute of stoppage time denied France all three points.
After cruising through the group stage, France will be aiming to reach the semi-finals at a major tournament for the first time since the 2012 Olympics.
Meanwhile, the Netherlands will be aiming to move one step closer to retaining the trophy they won on home soil five years ago.
They opened Euro 2022 with a 1-1 draw against Sweden before registering their first win of the tournament with a 3-2 victory over Portugal on matchday two.
After collecting four points from their opening two group games, Mark Parsons’s side knew that a point against Switzerland would secure them a place in the knockout rounds.
The defending champions were pegged back after Switzerland’s Geraldine Reuteler cancelled out the Netherlands’ opener, but a brace from Romee Leuchter and a Victoria Pelova strike wrapped up a 4-1 win.
After finishing in second place in Group C, the Netherlands will now be looking to reach the semi-finals at the European Championships for the third time in their last four tournaments.

We say: France Women 2-1 Netherlands Women
France have already beaten their quarter-final opponents this year, beating the Netherlands 3-1 in February at the Tournoi de France, and we think that they will draw upon that experience to edge out Parsons’s side on Saturday.
