With few days to Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia to assume duty, former technical committee chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi has advised the former Nigerian international to keep his assistant’s utterances about the team under strict check.
Ogunjobi who wants Siaisia to be the lone voice of Super Eagles told SuperSport.com in Lagos that Nigerians would always hold him responsible for whatever shortcomings emanating from unguided statement of his assistant.
“I just have to warn him to caution his assistant, he is the one given the job, the assistant should not start talking on the pages of newspaper.
“Is Siasia we know not Simon Kalika or any other assistants and he should not allow the assistant to make policy statement about the team.
“We need to respect Siasia, he is our senior national coach and if we allow others to be talking that means we do not respect him.
“The structure must be there, others cannot be talking, even if other assistants coming will be Fabio Capello he will be under him, he should respect Siasia.
“He should please manage his assistants, we do not want to hear from any assistants except Siasia and that is the only way Nigerians and the whole world will respect him.”
The former Shooting Stars general manager who said he is not keen over the other assistants the NFF will give to the former Under-23 coach but stated that what is important is that the assistants must recognize the supremacy of Siasia as the chief coach.
“I do not have anybody in mind nor do I care who NFF brings, the only thing is that the person must be ready to help and recognize him as the head coach.
“As far as I am concerned and Nigerians too siasia is the main man that we know,” he said.
