Brazil starlet Neymar, who grabbed a brace in the 2-0 win over Scotland on Sunday, has been linked with a switch to Chelsea.
The Blues made a move for Neymar last summer but a deal could not be agreed with his current club, Brazilian outfit Santos.
The 19-year-old impressed at the Emirates on Sunday as Brazil secured a 2-0 win over Scotland in an international friendly and Chelsea have been tipped to reignite their interest in the summer.
Brazil boss Mano Menezes has revealed he feels the young forward would benefit by making a move to the Premier League, although it remains to be seen if Neymar will opt for a move to England as there is also interest from Italy and Spain.
“That could only be good for Neymar as a final complement to his transformation,” Menezes said. “The style in England will give him stronger physical strength and he would develop to escape the strong marking. If he did that he would be a more complete player.
“I don’t see any problem if he moved, although it is never good for the supporters in Brazil to see the best players leave.
“I understand the personal motivations and financial ones that decide these things.”
Neymar has a £37million buy-out clause in his contract, a fee that would not dissuade Chelsea from making a move, but the Stamford Bridge side will face plenty of competition for his signature.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini was in the stands at the Emirates on Sunday and the Eastlands outfit have been credited with an interest.
Real Madrid have been mooted as potential suitors for Neymar in the past but the player himself admits Italy is his preferred destination and Serie A giants Juventus have been heavily linked, but it remains to be seen if the Old Lady will be able to match Santos’ valuation.
