Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas waded into the latest club-versus-country row after warning team-mate Jack Wilshere he faces burn-out.
Wilshere is ready to go against Gunners boss Arsene Wenger’s wishes in the summer by playing the European Under-21 Championships in Denmark – even though he is now an established member of Fabio Capello’s senior side.
Wenger wants his midfield starlet to have a full summer’s break ahead of next season but Wilshere feels the tournament is vital to England’s international future.
But Fabregas last night warned his midfield colleague that he could be taking a gamble by playing in the summer.
The Spain international said on Twitter: ‘298 (games) for Arsenal, 59 for the national team and U21’s.
‘I’m very proud to achieve that but is also dangerous at this age to play too much. Telling you Jack.’
