Chinedu Obasi topped the overall OPTA assessment following the Super Eagles game against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, with Victor Anichebe getting the highest offensive numbers.
On Friday, Technical Adviser Lars Lagerback reviewed the game video with the players, pointing out errors and employing OPTA stats to assess each player’s performance.
Obasi got the highest overall scores, with the highest number of balls won, distance covered and successful tackles made. But his pass completion fell slightly short.
Victor Anichebe got the highest attacking numbers, and was up there with Obasi in distance covered during the game, despite being subbed off in the second half.
Officials said Lagerback told the players they will have to show significant improvement in the numbers as the World Cup approaches.
