DE GRAAFSCHAP VS AJAX
De Vijverberg will host Thursday’s KNVB Beker clash between De Graafschap and Ajax, the two teams who meet for the first time since May 2019. The Amsterdammers are fighting tooth and nail to defend their Eredivisie title, but they want to go all the way in the Dutch Cup as well. Ajax have been producing fine displays ever since interim boss John Heitinga took over the reins, and seeing that the former Netherlands international has a full squad to choose from, away win should be considered. Both Brian Brobbey and Calvin Bassey should be recalled to the starting XI.
Meanwhile, De Graafschap failed to impress in back-to-back losses to Roda (0-2) and Eindhoven (0-4), and seeing that they conceded 12 goals in total in the previous two meetings with Ajax, anything but a routine away win would be a big sensation. A man to watch in the home team will be Camiel Neghli, who scored a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Eindhoven.
