Chelsea defender David Luiz has revealed he is trying to persuade Brazil team-mate Neymar to join him at Stamford Bridge.
The 19-year-old is currently one of the hottest commodities in world football, and is reportedly being closely tracked by La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.
However, Chelsea have also been linked with Neymar over the last few months, and Luiz, who himself only joined in January, reveals he has been trying to promote the club to the Santos forward.
“I would definitely like Neymar in my team, but it is up to him to decide where he wants to play – I hope he signs for Chelsea,” Luiz told the London Evening Standard.
“Neymar’s getting to know London and he likes it very much.
“I love it here, too. It’s one of the best cities in the world – all I miss is the beach.”
Neymar showed glimpses of quality in Brazil’s 1-0 friendly victory over Ghana on Tuesday night.
