Palermo have revealed Chelsea and Real Madrid are leading the chase to sign their highly rated Argentine midfielder Javier
Other top clubs hunting the playmaker include Malaga, Manchester United and Manchester City, who are all rumoured to be scrambling for the 22-year-old’s signature in an ongoing transfer saga.
Italian rivals Napoli have also shown interest in Pastore, but Palermo’s president, Maurizio Zamparini, has dismissed reports that the Serie A club have made a new enquiry.
Zamparini has instead touted Chelsea or Real as the most likely destination for the midfield maestro, who proved quite influential in the club’s Serie A campaign last season.
He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “At the moment it looks as if Pastore will move abroad. Real Madrid and Chelsea lead the race for his services.
“There is not much news, as the same clubs still want him.
“Napoli have not made a fresh approach for him. Those quotes are outdated. They’re from a meeting several weeks ago.
“(Napoli president Aurelio) De Laurentiis sat next to me and asked whether we could talk about Pastore. I said ‘no’ and haven’t heard from him since.”
