Arsenal may be forced to loan out Wellington following work permit rejection

Arsenal may have to send young striker Wellington Silva out on loan, after the 17-year-old Brazilian was denied a work permit last week.

Wellington agreed a move to Arsenal in 2009 from Fluminese and the teenager was meant to begin playing with the Gunners in January.  However, his application for a work permit was rejected last week on the grounds that he did not fit the criteria of being a regular international or of exceptional talent.

According to the Daily Mirror, although Arsenal had hoped to fast-track the youngster to the first team, they may now be forced to send him out on loan for up to two years.
